Before a film is made there are stages that need to be followed before hand , these include the story line , the scripts and packaging.

The pitch used needs to be persuasive and appealing in order for investments to be made towards the production for the film.  Once there is funding ready ,  scripts need to be made and then there is casting. Casting is when the crew choose actors/actresses to become characters in the film. Once all characters are hired and everything is set accordingly, the film is ready to be shot. This is part of pre-production, which is all the preparations and precautions taken before a film is published.  After pre production there is the release of the film , soon followed by post production which can include merchandise etc.

Some of Americas most successful producers include Tyler Perry , Ralph Winter and Peter Jackson. Depending on the ownership of the studio , films can make a different range of films.

Furthermore and independent production is when a professional film is being made mostly without the major film studio system.
